At UK TEFL & TESOL Council, we make it simple to apply for TEFL/TESOL certification or accreditation. Below you’ll find the key steps of the application process, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. You can pause and return to your application at any time — your progress is saved automatically.

Choose your membership

Choose your application type (teacher certification or institutional accreditation).

Complete Application Form

Complete the short online form. It takes less than 10 minutes.

UK TTC verification

After completing all forms, submit your application for verification. You will not be able to edit any contact details thereafter.

Application Review

Our accreditation specialists will assess your submission and verify that it meets the required criteria.

Accreditation

Once your application is approved, you’ll receive an email notification. You can then download your badge, certificate and TEFL/TESOL best-practice materials from your admin dashboard.

Requirements

TEFL/TESOL Certification for Teachers:

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • English language advanced or proficiency required (if not a native speaker).
    Prior teaching or academic experience preferred but not required.
  • All applicants are reviewed individually by UK TTC certification staff.

Approved Member of UK TTC:

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • English language proficiency required (if not a native speaker): equivalent to Level 3 / Level 5 TEFL/TESOL or CELTA Certification.
    Prior teaching or academic experience preferred but not required.
  • All applicants are reviewed individually by UK TTC certification staff.

UK TTC Approved Centre:

  • Must offer programs for English teachers (CPD, TESOL, TEFL training, etc.)
  • Accreditation requires proof of organisational legal status (e.g. registration documents).
  • site audit or virtual inspection may be carried out, but it is not mandatory.
